Great news. Congrats to Ray! He should get some early opportunities while Jackson is out ... Hope he takes advantage.

Great news! TTF, I agree this could be a big opportunity for Ray to get steady PT while Jackson is out. It'll be good to see him on the Pistons.

This came down to Ray having more game time experience than Lorenzo, considering that Ray is now the backup point guard (while Reggie is out) and should see 10-15 min a game...

That did not last long. This was a very undude like move by Van Gundy...

That's, uh, that's a bummer.

Ray decided to play for the GR Drive. Good news for all of us over here in West Michigan. We get to see a few more of his games. http://www.mlive.com/pistons/index.ssf/ ... ice_1.html

Ray is 2nd in the top prospects list for the d league in the latest rankings. He also had 20 points and 10 assists in Grand Rapids season opener.

The Holland papers say that Ray is now the #1 ranked D-League prospect. http://www.hollandsentinel.com/sports/2 ... -for-drive

Ray has dropped down to #4 on the D-League Prospect list. GR Drive play tonight and tomorrow. Hopefully, he can move up the ladder with his performance in these two games. http://dleague.nba.com/prospect-watch/

Up to the #2 prospect in NBDL. Seems to be doing all he can in GR to get his next shot at the League. Good for him for working hard and grinding this out to chase his dreams.

I am not sure that we should put much stock in the player ratings for the D-league. They just called up Acy Quincy who was rated at #23.

i wouldn't put much stock
in the league period. its not apparent that they have any interest in developing anything. kinda like a purgatory?
In Greek mythology, the Titans were greater even than the gods. They ruled their universe with absolute power! Well that basketball court out there tonight, that's our universe. Let's rule it like Titans! (with apologies to coach boon)

It's a cheap way to keep prospects from playing abroad by dangling the dream of playing in the NBA.

Local beat writer for the Hornets has commented that PG Kemba Walker looks really tired, so it's possible Ray might get a shot at some backup work. Especially with the team fading and therefore there might not be as much need for Walker to keep the Hornets in the chase.
