Great point, NCT. That explains a lot. Similar circumstances were at work in LBJ returning to Cleveland and, after getting his desired supporting cast, that has finally worked out.

Fine analogy, DC. Nick's wife, the lovely Valeryia, is from Minsk and that's only about 963 miles from Saratov. "Only". Still, a lot closer than any NBA city. Like everyone else, I 'd love to see Nick get a crack at the NBA, but this seems okay to me.

Nick is killing it this season and is leading his team is scoring and rebounding. He is also among the scoring leaders of the entire Euro Leauge at nearly 24 PPG. He is also loving all that borscht!

Nick Minnerath MVP of FIBA Champion League for the week. Nick scored 39 points 8 rebounds 2 assist and 40 efficiency! His Russian team beat Israel team. He leading the Russian league and Champion League (40 teams!) in scoring. The boy balling out. NBA teams should have grabbed him.

Nick made the Russian league all star game. It will be world stars vs Russians. World stars packed with mega talent. Nick leads league in scoring with 22. He leads the big FIBA champion league with 21 a game. 8 rebounds a game and leads leagues in effeciency. That D league turned him into a true star talent. Guess the boy been killing it.
All star game played February 11 in Sochi.

Read an article in euro hoops about Nick. Played in russian vtb league and ended up regular season as the scoring champion with averaging 23.3. First in efficiency with 20 and eighth in rebounding with just under 7. He played in FIBA champions basketball league with 40+ teams. Scoring champion in that league regular season with 20.3!! Boy earning money next year. Still think that year with Nick, Ray, Eli, Simon, Lowe, Blake, etc had talent to go long way in ncca tourney for those who remember it. Just undisciplined team.

Glad to see Nick is doing well. I believe he should be in the NBA right now. That 2010- 2011 team was loaded. It had 6 players that eventually played pro ball at various levels.

Nick leads the VTB league in scoring and is named to the all league team

http://avtodor.ru/en/index.php/news-events/item/518-avtodor-forward-is-on-the-all-vtb-league-team

Nick MINNERATH, the Regular Season Top Scoring Player, has been included in the 2016-2017 All-VTB United League Team!

The best Avtodor player Nick MINNERATH played 22 games for Avtodor this season scoring 23.3 points and gaining 6.8 rebounds for 34.0 minutes per game. Additionally, the American forward became the top scorer of the Basketball Champions League where his average statistics in 15 games were 20.3 points and 6.8 rebound for 34.1 minutes.

Joining Minnerath in the All-VTB United League Team determined by the League and TASS information agency are the 2016-2017 VTB United League regular season MVP Alexey Shved from BC Khimki, as well as CSKA guard Nando De Colo, Zenit forward Sergey Karasev and Enisey centre Frank Elegar.

Nick MINNERATH

Nick Minnerath's team the Shanghai Sharks played the Houston Rockets last night. Shanghai did not do well but Nick had 22 and 9. Averaging 50% with threes in preseason. Not bad for a unheard of junior college player!

It's been a while for me on this board. I came across the name Minnerath in China. I remember him in Detroit very well. He looks like he killing it in China with Jimmer Fredette on the Shanghai Sharks. On the cuff of playoffs I think? Averaging 29 pts in 29 minutes with 8.5 rebounds. Shooting 50/46/88. 46% from the three!! Bad news is Eli Holman got season ending injury in China. He at your school rehabbing if you don't know. He a monster on the floor. You guys had a great team back then. 2011/12? Good luck finishing year off. I think should have kept Ray MacCallum. But that from looking in from the outside.

I agree Mac but my feeling is he done with interest in NBA. He and Eli making more in China than they make in NBA. With a 6 month season in China makes sense for them. Pays more than euroleague with half the games and months shorter season. Ray would go there to I'm sure but they want either big strong guys or someone who scores big. Only total of 30 something foriegners make it there. Good for Nick and Eli. Eli rehabbing here in Detroit if anyone wants say hello.

Here's a tweet I saw about Nick today. It gives a summary of how he's been doing:

Nick Minnerath tossed in 32 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to lead Shanghai Sharks (China) to win over Shenzhen. He's averaging 28.2 ppg & 8.3 rpg, shooting 46% from 3-point range. CBA season ends soon & Minnerath available to NBA teams.

I also saw tweet about Minnerath, said regular season over in China and his team Shanghai Sharks in playoffs. Said made over 1000 pts, over 100 threes at 46% and 8.5 rebounds a game. His American player on Sharks is Jimmer Fredette. 2 foreigners allowed on each team in China. CBA ha 20 teams.

But I thought of this, that The Tournament competition with 2 million dollar winner? Minnerath Holman MacCallum Chase Anderson Calliste and couple other Titans from around than. Those first 4 on list all great pro players around the world.
Any thoughts I think the kids make up teams and enter it. Lots of colleges have past players entering as teams.

Nick had all the above in just 29 minutes of play each game! I saw on real GM his true shooting percentage was .623. Nick actual had higher % in all catagories than his teamate Jimmer Fredette ( excepts free throws ). Nick had only .875 to to Fredette's .952 lol
Both players had great years in China.

Not sure what Minnerath is being paid but according to this website the minimum salary for a rookie in the Chinese Basketball Association is $815,615. I dont think Nick will be playing in the G-League for 35K any time soon.

I have been wondering if Nick and his wife are at the World Cup.
