Very interesting, I didn't know about Kahlil. Here's hoping he heads to UD Jesuit to hone his skills before enrolling as a Titan.

We have two of our assistant coaches already locked in. Alex Berry notified us that Canaan Chatman will be one of the assistants,Kirky speculated that Peter Kahler will be our director of basketball operations. If these guys are correct, we only have one opening to fill. It will be interesting to see who B.A. selects.

Coach A. Jermaine Jackson
Coach B. Canaan Chatman
Coach C. TBA
Coach D. Peter Kahler

At the Roundball Luncheon, BA said he was "sifting through almost 50 candidates and another 50 who showed interest in being on his staff", so there are no shortage of candidates.
All joking about Thon Maker aside (and although I have been wrong before), I would not rule out Larry Blunt from Orangeville Prep for one of the openings...

Blunt ended up getting an assistant coaches position at Canisius

Of the seven basketball coaches and assistants now on staff for MBB, all graduated from a Catholic university, six from a Jesuit institution.

Interesting article in the Sporting News regarding how hiring parents as assistant coaches to land high level basketball recruits often end in failure. UDM hired Canaan Chatman and Cam became a titan.

Anybody have any ideal when coach Davis will announce his assistants. Someone stated that he will be bringing his entire staff with him. Are we waiting for the new fiscal year to announce the new staff?

FYI, the university's men's basketball website has updated its coaching staff section today. Only Mike Davis is displayed as head coach. There are no assistant coaches displayed.

https://detroittitans.com/coaches.aspx?path=mbball

Today is the first day of the university's new fiscal year.

I'd look for a press release early next week announcing the first of several updates to the staff and roster.

I'm guessing we will get some updates today.

I guess it didn't matter. I felt why, when this was posted, as the coaches at UDJ would talk him out of coming to UD seeing as they never send players over but we ended up not getting him anyway and that will turn out to be a good thing.

The new fiscal year has began. What's the hold up on announcing the new staff?

The new motto for UD Athletics is, "Don't expect the expected. Expect the unexpected. Avoid the expectorated." ;)

i don''t understand why anyone thinks it is so important that we need to know the assistant coaches ASAP.

We need 6 more scholarship plays at this late point. I'm more worried about that.

Since our new coach doesn’t recruit anymore, who is going to find and bring in these 6 scholarship players?

If you don’t think getting strong assistant coaches is important, just look at the success of the Titans program since JJSr was forced onto Ray. The program became close to (if not) the worst D1 program. Why do you think almost all of those strong D1 State of Michigan high school players chose not to play for the Titans?
