Let's not let that Obscure the fact that wooden was a great coach.

Fundamentals: Let's not forget that Wooden started each season's first practice instructing players on how to put on their socks.

Coach Davis stated that he hasn't been out on the road recruiting in over 6 years I know that we are in the "quiet period" where coaches can only speak with recruits on the phone or on campus. Since coach Davis doesn't like to recruit, do we have anyone making phone calls for us? I am assuming we will not announce the hiring of our new assistant coaches on July 2nd.

RB I thought that was an interesting statement he made at his press conference and surprised no one picked up on that so far. I guess he relies on his assistanants or spends time recruiting by phone or email? I don’t want to knock him because he has been successful, but that seemed a bit extreme.

All true, Mac. Let’s hope this run lasts longer though Perry had a good 10 year run, right?

Since Davis prefers to have his staff do the recruiting, I looked at the basketball staff listed on the TxSU site (which is a bit depleted now but does include a few staff members, including at least two who was there for Davis). Shyrone Chatman is listed as a recruiting lead, but he's only been at TxSO for a year. Previously, he recruited for UMass.

It's been pretty dead on here lately. Everyone must be watching the World Cup.

Iceland has played pretty well, but I think the only place they are going is home. They play Croatia tomorrow and Croatia has shown to be one of the better teams.

(At least we’re finally starting to see more consistency in branding.)

Maybe Cory wanted to see who the new coach might be as he really liked the school, but got tired of waiting. There are only a handful of days left before the signing period is over, very understandable that he would want to lock into a program that already has a staff in place.

Ok, we have the coach now. Let's bring in the talent!

Marquis Moore was offered. He's 6'5" to 6'6" wing/small forward/guard who graduated from Westchester in California in 2017 and attended Woodstock Academy in Connecticut this past season

Just an FYI that Jason Whitens has started the first 4 games as a RS Soph for WMU this season. It's early, but so far he's been good for 12.3ppg and 6.5 rebounds. Assuming he's playing off guard to Flowers, but I've not watched them play yet.

I know we've got at least one Whitens fan out there.

I just finished watching the Western/ Oklahoma State game and Western was in it all the way. Whitens had 11 pts., 5 rb. and 2 assists and was second on the team in min.. The Oklahoma State announcer addressed what a nice player he is. He guarded the OSU hot hand most of the game and played really nice defense. Sorry he wasn't good enough to play for us. we sure could use him right now. I am done tipping off our coaches on nice players up here. I have contacted them twice on Foster Wonders and we never contacted him. We could have been first in but now he has all kinds of offers. Wright State, Oakland, Green Bay, Milwaukee and UIC from the Horizon. Plus now Southern Illinois, Marquette, Toledo, Loyola and most of the MAC. He will be a Jr. this year.
