How about we just call Tariiq "Reek" which is his Twitter handle.

Agree with your point; Tariq will be initially slotted as a back-up for Chatman. I came across a couple of video clips of Mr. Jones; he's definitely athletic.

If that's the case, he'll most likely be stealing minutes from Cole. I'm strangely okay with that. Regardless, I expect to see Kam Chatman on the floor for 35 minutes a night this season... unless he gets in foul trouble.

Baller, you are projecting KC to pay 35 mpg, what do you think his scoring and rebounding averages will be? I am hoping for 18pts and 10rbs.

Just to be clear here. I did not mean to say that Reek would be first off the bench to replace Chatman. I said that he would be slotted to that 3-4 position as a back-up to Chatman. I think it will be good for the team that both Long and Jones will have to compete for those minutes. Like udballer, I think that the coaches intend for Chatman to play a lot of minutes; and, he will play multiple positions depending upon the line-up and match-up's in a specific game. Also, I think that Long's experience in the BA system and one year at D-1 will give him the early advantage over Reek. But the PR claimed that Reek is a very hard worker. So is Long. The pre-season practices between those two could get very intense. In fact, I hope they get intense. It would help both of them improve and help the team gain depth in case of foul trouble or injuries to a projected starter. One big differentiation will be which one can hit the 3 during a game. If Long had shown that skill as a frosh, then we would not be having this conversation. If Reek can hit the 3 in games that matter, then he will earn playing time.

Without the presence of Jalethal, I'd fully expect 18 & 9 or so out of Chatman. With Jaleel, I'd still be expecting 16 & 7. Kam will be solid... mark it down. ;)

Early season check in on Kam. Foul trouble one game is pulling his mpg down but it is still sitting at 30.5 minutes per game. Through four games, he's at 16.5ppg and 8.5 rebounds. At this point, he is definitely tracking to make both myself and R.B.J1 happy.

Initial indications suggest that Tariiq Jones is an excellent addition to the 2017 Recruiting Class. He seems most comfortable at SF, however, his athletic ability enables him to be effective at PF.

Just watched a great game between Rhode Island and Duquesne. Eric Williams Jr is the real deal. Makes me sick to think we maybe coulda had this kid.

Our head coach and our recruiting coordinator just didn't see any talent in this young man. We don't offer kids who don't have talent. Why offer kids with no talent when we have an already strong, talent laden team?

It's just such a sad state of affairs with the UDM Hoops program.

“Illinois F Greg Eboigbodin (FR) is leaving the program. verbalcommits.com/players/greg-e…”

Eboigbodin is a former Titan target from UD Jesuit, originally signed with UIC but ended up enrolled at Illinois for his freshman year.

Someone on the UIC messsge board posted “Prediction: He goes back home and plays for Mike Davis in Detroit...if Mike Davis is in fact the coach.”
