Bacari posted a weird tweet about commitments today. I don't understand it.

Hmm...

That's even more cryptic than Trump's tweets. And Mac's message board posts.

So are you saying that Mac is really #realdonaldtrump?

I hope he's not saying Mac is our newest recruit.

Assume we can just about close the books on 2017, but looks like the coaching staff has been very active on the recruiting trail for the next two classes. According to the Verbal Commits website, Detroit Mercy has extended 13 offers to recruits in the class of 2018, 11 offers to guys in the class of 2019.

BA re-words his tweet:
I'll be so happy and blessed when the new talent COMMIT to the Detroit Mercy Titans!

DETROIT (7/27/2017) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team continued its impressive 2017 signing class as junior college transfer Tariiq Jones (Detroit, Mich./Dakota/Schoolcraft CC) and preferred walk-on Bass Ollie (Kalamazoo, Mich./Kalamazoo Central) announced their intentions to wear the red, white and blue.

Haven't seen Tariq play - a biggish body which we needed with Hogan off this year.

Any one have thoughts on Tariq's game and how he might fit into the team this year? Minutes & contribution expected?

Interesting to note, Tariq Jones originally he committed to Louisiana-Monroe. In addition to ULM, he had numerous interest/offers; Tennessee Tech, Chattanooga, ETSU, Fort Wayne, and UT Martin

At 6'7" 200 lbs, Tariq is not a big body replacement for Hogan who was listed at 6'7" 260 lbs. He is like Jenkins who was listed at 6'8" 200 lbs. He shot 46% from 3 pt range as a JUCO last year. Likely initially slotted as a back-up for Chatman.

Link to Tony Paul's column today.

Excerpt.

"The expectations are an above-.500 season for the Titans, athletic director Robert Vowels recently told The News, after they were 8-23 in Year 1 under Alexander. Kam Chatman, a Michigan transfer, is eligible to play, and there are some promising returnees, too, including Corey Allen, Josh McFolley and Gerald Blackshear Jr., among others.

A mystery, though, remains the status of star forward Jaleel Hogan. He is taking summer classes and working to be on the roster come fall, but that's far from a certainty. Detroit Mercy has yet to post its 2017-18 roster online.

Hogan, shortly after last season, tweeted out that he was transferring from Detroit Mercy, but the post was quickly removed."

Agree with your point; Tariq will be initially slotted as a back-up for Chatman. I came across a couple of video clips of Mr. Jones; he's definitely athletic.

Hey, folks. Let's spell his name right: Tariiq Jones T-A-R-I-I-Q. Like each of us (mostly; some have four) it has two I's.

OK?

Excellent post. Getting a person's name correct is a form of respect. Unless one is dyslexic, there is no excuse for not taking the time to so. For example, I have two "Os" in my name and one "S". I'm not M-O-S-S-E. Nor M-O-S-E. Right, NY Titan? ;)

Most recent transfer list from Verbal Commits that was retweeted earlier today by BA.

http://verbalcommits.com/transfers/2017

Hogan is not on it.

AFS is on it; but without a new school.

Roschon Prince is on it with his enrollment at Detroit.

Funny you mention this, but quite accurate. Part of the reason why some TAC member get a bit miffed when they continually spell a name wrong down at the U. Its happening to me right now, but I am a slappy, so more forgiving. They have my last name spelled wrong on one thing and my wifes last name spelled wrong on another.
