The first match-up in December is a big one. Titans head to UCLA on Dec. 3 in the first meeting since the NCAA Tourney W in 1999. #GoTitans

I think this is the remainder of the non conference games

We head back to the Motor City on Dec. 6 to host Toledo from Calihan Hall. #GoTitans

The home stand continues on Dec. 9 as Coach Alexander and the Titans welcome the Broncos to Calihan Hall. #DefendTheHall

Circle the date, this will be a good one. Titans vs. Wolverines at @LCA_Detroit on Dec. 16. #DetroitsCollegeTeam #GoTitans

We return to Calihan Hall as East Tennessee State hits town on Dec. 19. #DefendTheHall #GoTitans

We will wrap up the non-conference slate with a Dec. 22 showdown against Murray State from historic Calihan Hall. #DetroitsCollegeTeam

I give Athletics good marks for the schedule rollout. Yeah, the trickling out of individual games this morning might be annoying to some, but the approach generated some Twitter traffic. I like the "Welcome Back to Calihan" theme. Nice graphics for each game and lots of info in the press release. Liked that the release of schedule coincided with the luncheon to involve supporters and media.

As the press release outlines, seems like a pretty challenging slate. Some nice marquee games with Michigan, UCLA, and Virginia Tech. Two Jesuit schools, Seattle and St. Louis. Two close MAC schools come to Calihan, Western Michigan and Toledo. Murray State a strong mid-major. Fort Wayne a fairly close road trip. A special game to open college hoops at the new downtown arena will be fun. A couple Saturday matinee games at Calihan, WMU and Siena Heights, that might allow promotions targeting youth groups. Early cupcake matches with Marygrove (Live6 showdown!) and SH should build some confidence or at least prevent an early season losing streak. It will be hard to go 7-6 in the pre-conference, but if things click perhaps that is within reach.

(The WBB schedule was also released today, highlighted by home games with both Michigan and Michigan State: http://detroittitans.com/schedule.aspx?path=wbball.)

It's a good schedule, I'm pleased with what they've pulled together. Seems like 'smart' adds with the mid-majors that are on there as there is some kind of tie -- geographically close, Jesuit, etc. It beats having a completely random and anonymous slate of teams on the schedule. This is a good start for BA and Vowels in getting this pulled together.

If only they start reviewing and adopting marketing items from Rogo's long list of ideas he's accumulated we'd really be talking!

My expectation is a 9-4 record in non conference games. From my perspective; there are only 3 opponents (Virginia Tech, UCLA, and Michigan) that have more talent than our program.

I hope you're right, Dave. Although you are expecting us to lose one game we should win. I'd rather think we're going to win one game we should lose. (My realistic inner voice says 8-5.)

I think we'll be lucky to go 7-6. 6-7 or even 5-8 are more likely. But we could do better, and that's why they play the games.

An early analysis of Fort Wayne, seems like a fairly good team that might be a challenge for the Titans to beat on the road:

This is a very good schedule with interesting games. It could be a fun year. Still, it's a challenging non-con with a lot of risk. Hopefully (fingers crossed) we'll go into the league games with a lot of confidence. I'm really looking forward to the year. If...if we could come out of the non-conference with a winning record, it would be YUGE. I'm thinking 13-0 is not too much to ask. :D

Six returning letterman, five freshmen, projected starting lineup of four guards .... I hope we can handle a team like this.

Heard the replacement for the Marygrove game may be Michigan-Dearborn.

Look for the Horizon league schedule to drop as early as Wednesday. UIC posted their Horizon games on their website this afternoon. They are at Calihan on February 4 (a Sunday) and the Titans are at UIC on February 19, a Monday.
