I assume the roster will be updated concurrent with the issuance of the press release announcing the late signing of the scholarship player and the walk-on. Repeal and replace the roster lineups, simultaneously. Last year's roster was a disaster! The new one's going to be beautiful, amazing. It will happen so quickly, your head will spin. Then on to winning so much, we'll tire of winning.

FYI: I just checked and every Horizon League men's basketball team has their roster posted for 2017-18 except us and UIC, plus our women's team even has it's roster posted. We could start a contest to see who can guess the correct roster release date...

The hold up is they are still working on getting CB one more year of eligibility. Hopefully the NCAA responds with a favorable fax soon.

People on this board keep talking about finding a replacement game for Marygrove, but Marygrove athletics always said they'd play out the fall semester. They are still playing soccer. Are they bothering playing a half season of hoops? I guess I assume not, like everyone else on this board.

If they do field a hoops team with 5 or 6 players, I really like our odds.

A couple weeks ago I tried to access the Marygrove basketball schedule and got a message that the MBB season was cancelled. DetroitTitans.com also quickly removed Marygrove from their schedule page soon after the announcement came out that the Mg was eliminating undergrad programs. I saw a report on Twitter that two of their players transferred to Olivet College.

We are officially the last Horizon League mens basketball team to post their 2017-2018 roster. UIC has posted their mens basketball roster for the 2017-2018 season.

Maybe the Luncheon Next week the roster will be announced with a pleasant surprise? Hopefully? I saw Jaleel Hogan watching the Men's Home opener for Soccer last week Friday. He would give a different dimension to the team.

Not having the official roster up yet doesn't bother me; there could be valid reasons for it not being finalized. Of course, they could do what Memphis did, for example. Memphis posted their roster on their official site while still working out the eligibility of their last player, and then just added him to the official roster a couple of weeks later when his eligibility was assured.

The Hogan situation is what concerns me. The young man had both feet out the door earlier in the year and was headed to UAB. Doesn't sound like a guy who wants to be here, and that's a troubling sign for a senior who should be one of the leaders of the team. I'm not assigning blame to anyone; just noting that it's not a good look for your best player to want to be somewhere else.

Jaleel Hogan has stuff going on outside of basketball, and mostly on the academic side. He is a good guy, a really good guy. A trueTitan. If/when he suits up for his senior year, he will not be a problem. He will be an answer. He will not be someone wishing he was elsewhere. He will be a leader, a warrior and our best player. Worry about whether Jaleel is able to suit up and stay at U-D is certainly justified, but do not worry about what he will bring to the floor if he is back on the court for one final go-around.

Well, that's certainly a hopeful way of looking at things. I agree that Hogan is a really good guy, based on my interactions with him and his family. I'm sure he'll play hard when he's on the court, wherever he suits up.

However, none of that contradicts my point that it appears he doesn't/didn't want to be here. Whatever issues he is dealing with, he didn't want to work through them here. He publicly announced he was leaving and then publicly announced his preferred destination. Can't get more clear than that. If the senior leader of the team doing those things doesn't concern you, I guess it's just that we look at things differently. The Hogan situation (coupled with the fact that he is the third significant player on the team to lose eligibility due to academics in the past year) does concern me.
