Men's Soccer Ranked in Regional Rankings

Postby uofdmik2008 » Tue Aug 29, 2017 4:33 pm

Would have posted it in the Soccer Thread, but there was no option. Ranked 7th in the Great Lakes Region, highest ranking for the program under current coach.

In the past, and when I tried again just this morning, the soccer page wouldn't allow me to initiate a reply message.

So, you're saying our soccer team is the equivalent of the masters programs in our business school?

In all seriousness, I do watch UDM soccer when they happen to have a game near me. I'm glad we seem to be investing in this sport, not only because I'm a fan but because the sport will probably continue to grow more than many people realize.

The home opener against Stetson all the bleachers were full and people were standing around the fences, there was a better student turn out for that than 90 percent of the basketball games! Also, just tried to create a thread in the Soccer Page and it would not let me!

Maybe all this CTE stuff and fact that moms won't let their sons play football anymore will catapult soccer to be the new football in 20 years (I realize soccer also has some concussion issues due to headers and collisions, but it's nothing compared to football).

A soccer page would be great.

The creation of a new topic is what it wasn't letting me do, I can comment on the post you carried over, but there is no button at the top to create new topic like there is at the top of every other thread.

When I try and reply to the latest message in the soccer section, I get a "You cannot reply in this forum" message.

Titan men's soccer won at Fort Wayne today to stay undefeated after five games, at 4-0-1. Green Bay is up next which should be winnable, as Fort Wayne tied UWGB last week. The Titan's next 10 games include contests at Penn State, Ohio State and Michigan ... so they are unlikely to complete the season undefeated. But it's nice while it lasts.

(Don't know why the soccer section of this board doesn't allow creation of new posts or responses to existing posts - but Titan soccer deserves a mention somewhere, so it may as well be here.)

They are also still ranked in the top 10 for the regional rankings coming in at 9th the last 2 weeks. Best start since 2002

Wouldn't surprise me, don't we have players on DCFC?

Titan men lose for the first time this season, a 3-1 setback at Green Bay.

2 but no key guys. Morman plays a bit, mostly vs lesser sides or when we need a big forward.
OU's guy's play way more, they are also much much better players. I would expect a handful of our guys playing in DCFC's league next season.

Thanks for fixing the glitch. The men's team is having a pretty good year so perhaps that dedicated section of the message board will get a bit of activity.
