Tuesday, February 13:

Non-Conference Opponents:
Bowling Green 83, Western Michigan 81. Western (15-11) led for all but a few seconds early and a few seconds late, but the latter is what counts. Bowling Green (16-10) came back from a 15 point deficit and won it when Western star Thomas Wilder fouled Antwon Lillard on a three point attempt with 4 seconds to play. Lillard hit all three foul shots for the win. Detroiter Justin Turner led Bowling Green with 29 points.

Toledo 82, Ohio 74. The Rockets (19-7) have won 11 of 12.
Other Games:
#2 Michigan State 87, Minnesota 57. 27 points for Jaren Jackson as MSU (25-3) wins.
Eastern Michigan 58, Miami (Oh.) 57. James Thompson (14 points, 14 rebounds) recorded his 18th double-double as EMU (15-11) blew almost all of a 17 point lead but held on and nipped Miami.
Central Michigan 80, Northern Illinois 72.

#1 Virginia 59, Miami 50. In it's first game as #1 since Ralph Sampson days, Virginia (24-2) led coast to coast against a good Miami (18-7) team.
#7 Texas Tech 88, #23 Oklahoma 78.
#13 Kansas 83, Iowa State 77.
#16 Rhode Island 85, Richmond 67.
#18 Tennessee 70, South Carolina 67.
Missouri 62, #21 Texas A&M 58.

Georgetown 87, Butler 83.

Wednesday, Feb. 14:

Horizon
Cleveland State 75, Detroit 72. Nice games for Prince and Long. But Corey and Josh were MIA tonight, shooting a combined 2-15, 1-10 from three. We are a very bad team, and I see little reason to think we won't be quite bad next year, too.

Youngstown State 75, Oakland 73. As others have reported. Misery loves company.

Non-Con Opponents:
#22 Michigan 74, Iowa 59. UM was dominant tonight.
#12 Duke 74, Virginia Tech 52. Tech (18-8) comes down quickly from their upset of Virginia.
Fort Wayne 90, Western Illinois 74. The Wayners are 17-12.
Houston Baptist 77, Northwestern St. 70.
Cornerstone 101, UM-Dearborn 70. Cornerstone is ranked #1 in NAIA. Could we beat them?
Aquinas 70, Siena Heights 62. Siena could have used Spencer Haywood tonight.

Other Games of Some Interest
Providence 76, #3 Villanova 71. The Friars (17-9) rejuvenate their at-large hopes.
#5 Xavier 102, Seton Hall 90. Cincinnati boasts two of the nation's top 6 teams.
#10 Auburn 76, Kentucky 66.
Florida State 81, #11 Clemson 79 (OT). FSU rallied from 18 down in the second half.
#24 Nevada 77, Boise State 72.

Loyola 80, Valparaiso 71. Hot Horizon League action! Loyola (22-5) leads its conference by 2 games with 3 to play. Your encouraging news: Head Coach Porter Moser was 32-61 in his first 3 seasons at Loyola.
George Mason 85, Dayton 67. Dayton (11-14) is looking at its first losing season since 2006. The Flyers have averaged over 23 wins a season in that time, including 102 wins in the last 4 years.
Stephen F. Austin 87, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 68. SFA is 21-5.

Thursday, Feb. 15:

Titan Non-Conference Opponents:
UCLA 75, Oregon State 68. Thomas Welsh had 15 points and 17 rebounds for the Bruins (18-8).
Murray State 68, Jacksonville State 60. Jonathan Stark had 32 for Murray (21-5).
Seattle 85, UT-Rio Grande Valley 68. Seattle is now 18-9.

Other Games
Houston 67, #5 Cincinnati 62. Houston (20-5) was looking good for the NCAA, but this win really gives them some breathing room.
Wisconsin 57, #6 Purdue 53. Big upset in the Big 10. Purdue (23-5), losers of 3 straight, may have peaked a month early.
Penn State 79, #8 Ohio State 56. Penn State (19-9) is the only B10 team to beat OSU (22-6), and they've done it twice.
#9 Gonzaga 76, Loyola Marymount 46.
San Francisco 70, #15 St. Mary's 63. St. Mary's loss pretty much guarantees Gonzaga a share of the WCC regular season title for the 19th time in 21 years.
#17 Arizona 77, #25 Arizona State 70. Good game between ranked, in-state rivals.
#19 Wichita State 93, Temple 86.

Tulsa 73, UConn 71. UConn (12-14) could have back-to-back losing seasons for the the first time since Jim Calhoun's first year as Coach in 1987.

Utah Valley 86, New Mexico State 79. Utah Valley (18-8) prevents NM State (22-4) from clinching the WAC regular season title. Chris Jans is in his first season as the coach at New Mexico State. You may recall he was an assistant to Gregg Marshall at Wichita State, went to Bowling Green as HC a few years ago and won 20 games his first season but was fired after the season for an off-court incident in a bar. He's one helluva coach, and despite tonight's loss, he's taking advantage of this second opportunity.

Friday, February 16:

Detroit 94, Youngstown State 84. The Titans were 24 of 25 from the foul line. Between them, the two teams were 39 of 42. A free throw shooting clinic. YSU's two misses were both by Cameron Morse, an 84% shooter. Titans looked good at times in winning first conference road game. We've now equalled our win total from a year ago. Not saying much, but there it is.

Wright State 69, Northern Kentucky 67. In Dayton, Wright State (20-8) completed a season sweep of NKU (19-8). The teams are tied atop the Horizon at 12-3, but Wright State holds the tie breaker by virtue of the sweep in head-to-head play. Northern cut an 11 point deficit with 6:30 to play down to a point on with 3 seconds left, but ran out of time. Announced attendance was 7205.

UIC 83, Green Bay 75. Dikembe Dixson scored 18 points and Jordan Blount had 14 points and 15 rebounds for UIC (16-12, 11-4) as UIC stayed one game behind the leaders. Both Wright State and Northern Kentucky play at UIC next weekend.

Oakland 82, Cleveland State 66. Greg Kampe's 600th career win.

IUPUI 76, Milwaukee 71 (OT). Milwaukee (7-9 in conference) wasted a 29 point performance from Jeremiah Bell. IUPUI is 6-9 in conference, and YSU 6-10 in the battle for 5th place.

Other Games:
St. Bonaventure 77, #17 Rhode Island 74. St. Bonaventure is 20-6 with a #29 RPI. Could they nab an at-large bid?

Buffalo 95, Bowling Green 82.
Niagara 85, Iona 84. Niagara is 18-10 in Coach Chris Casey's 5th season. In his first 4 seasons they won 7, 8, 7, and 10 games. Just trying to give everyone hope. :(
Harvard 65, Brown 58.
Penn 73, Columbia 62. Harvard and Penn stay tied atop the Ivy.
