4 points short of the 1978-79 season's CCNY score, but a +62 differential versus +58 vs CCNY.

The team is playing well; but, now back to reality and D-1 ball on the road.

perry's teams had killer instincts but st. perry would never run up the score. not sure he ever had this deep a bench tho?

Dickie V and Smokey Gaines would run up the score. Their teams dropped 132 on CCNY in prior year and 131 on Iowa Wesleyan. In the days of no 3-point shot. As Commissioner noted, you want to see this type of dominance against an NAIA team.

Roschon Prince looks kind of lost in the system, though.

Not disagreeing either. Perry's way worked well for a long time. The SLU win was a Perry W game. I remember seeing 4 buzzer-beaters or important late game shots on TV:

1. Dennis Boyd over Marquette.
2. Archie Tullos vs Evansville in MCC tourney.
3. Daniel Whye's jump shot against UCLA in NCAA tourney.
4. Kam Chatman's jump shot against SLU.

Most interesting, each shot occurred in a different decade over 40 years.

I am so proud of our University for the smashing victory over the Gesu 8th Grade Team by 60 points! It was also so crucial that our coach had his son out there late in the game so he could pad his own stats at the expense of the opponent and his other teammates who don't get the playing time that he does.

I guess we just need to realize that JJ has no class and will continue to lead this program into the dumpster.

why do you bother 96? if it all upset me as much as it seems to upset you, i'd find something else to do with my time? do you bite your fingernails too?

The 131 points are the most by the Titans since that 1979 win over CCNY, and the 4th most ever. The 62 point margin of victory is the biggest since beating Oakland 113-45 in December, 1976, and also the 4th largest ever.

Most points
Detroit 135, CCNY 77 February 1979
Detroit 133, Iowa Wesleyan 79, December 1976
Detroit 132, CCNY 91, February 1978
Detroit 131, Siena Heights 69, November 2017

Biggest Victory Margins:
72 Detroit 115, Western Ontario 43, January 1964
68 Detroit 113, Oakland 45, December 1976
65 Detroit 105, Aquinas 40, December 1968
62 Detroit 131, Siena Heights 69, November 2017.

Now if we can do this to a D-I team, I'll be impressed.

Look, it's Siena Heights. But it's still nice to see the Titans come out with authority against inferior talent. Haven't seen that since Coach Ray prowled the sidelines. And you gotta love 36 assists.

And I deliberately did not post a huge win for us type prediction. Reverse psychology. It worked. And I don't want to hear any of that causation, correlation, coincidence blather.

JJJ played 30 minutes. Corey Allen played 25. Josh McFolley played 24. The oft-maligned Dre Black played 21. Walk-on Bass Ollie played 10. Doesn't seem that imbalanced. Who should have gotten more minutes?

For a team that has had difficulties finding its rhythm, these early season games are low-pressure opportunities to let the guys get more comfortable with each other and let the coaches see different combinations play together.
