For the diehard Detroit Titan fan with sufficient intestinal fortitude to handle a double-dose of Titan basketball, the women’s game tips at 2:30 pm Friday, the alumni reception (also at the LCA) begins at 4:00 pm, and the men’s game conveniently follows at 5:30 pm.

If lightening strikes twice and both Titan teams win on Friday, they would also play back-to-back (again at 2:30 pm and 5:30 pm) on Saturday.

Here’s the Horizon League WBB tournament bracket:

An early Horizon tournament preview from the Detroit New, mostly focusing on Oakland:

It's basically an entire article about OU and at the end he says Detroit Mercy is also in this tournament but they really suck and I'm not going to waste any of my time writing about it.

I just bought reserved tickets for all Friday’s games online using the promotional code “socialcollege.” Was charged $20 for two tickets, plus $5 total for fees. Essentially, that’s half off, paid $25 for two tickets and I think the regular price at the door is $25 for a single ticket. I requested an option for seats in Section 124 (row 6), that’s adjacent to the section dedicated for UDM fans.

Thanks Rogo, if the Titans win Friday, which I doubt, I will definitely try to purchase tickets using that promo code.

Detroit News article looks at the local schools that will be playing in the WBB portion of the Horizon League tournament at the LCA:

Maybe there is stuff going on under the radar, but walking through the Detroit Mercy campus today I didn't see anything promoting student attendance at the tournament, i.e., there were no signs, no flyers, no information table, etc. Looks like some of the other league schools are making a concerted effort to get at least some of their students to the games. UIC is offering free tickets, transportation, food and hotel accommodations to students who want to make the trip. I saw that IUPUI was sponsoring a student bus. Oakland is offering tickets to their students at $10.

The best marketing is always under the radar. Don't worry. With Vowels in charge I'm sure there will be just as many Detroit Mercy students at LCA as there are at Calihan on any given night.

Ken Pomeroy’s statistical model gives Northern Kentucky a 50.8% chance of winning the tournament, Detroit Mercy has a projected .5% probability of taking home the trophy.

Mentions several things Titans had to deal with this year including the injury Corey Allen has been dealing with.... nepotism doesn't appear to be the reason why Corey hasn't been playing as many minutes as we think he should.

Maybe all of the marketing is being done on the Dark Web? Did you check there (only recommended for mature audiences)?

Article with inaccuracies as usual. Detroit beat GB at GB not at Calihan on Jan 29 as article says.

I believe the article was referring to the game on Jan 29, 2017 at Calihan Hall in which Dre Black won the game for us. We have not won at GB since Jan 12, 2012.

I'm calling that Oakland will win the tournament. It's just a hunch but despite the injuries and now lacking a deep bench, they still have the best two players in the league, they're the only team to place two on the All-League 1st Team, one who is POY. They have something to prove; the pressure is off and they are under the radar. It's a short series and in a short series experience and talent wins so Oakland is the favorite and will win it all.

However, I am rooting for our Titans to prove me wrong..... Go Titans!

Filing an early report from the LCA.

The entire upper bowl is curtained off, helps a bit to reduce the vastness of the arena.

The Titan pep band had at least double the number of students it usually has, they sound great.

The Titan WBB team is down 47-33 to NKU with 4:22 left in the third quarter.

Slow start. 0-4 from the line. Down 22-10.
