Looks like OU has a decent crowd a LCA. I was reading an article about Konya and all he did. He really understood the Detroit area, university students and marketing. They are still benefiting from the good work he did. We have a dinosaur NCAA bureaucrat as an AD who doesn't know jack about marketing. I also don't feel Vowels understands Detroit at all. He probably drives a foreign car.

I have a sneaking suspicion that there will be many changes in the off season...

On another topic: Who won the MVC today? That wold be Loyola. Another poorly run Jesuit university--but at least their alums had some balls and pressured their administration to be "all-in" or "all-out". They left the corrupt, mismanaged and mediocre HL (Rogo should be familiar with these concepts, he worked for the government) for the MVC.

Attendance reported in the box score for the OU-IUPUI game was 6,771 (assume that might be total for the entire day).

FWIW, the finals for the MVC’s Arch Madness this afternoon drew 8,056 fans. Last year’s championship game (in which Wichita St. faced Illinois St.) was attended by 11,744.

I love it! That made my night. Although on that last play, the CSU player did hip check Nunn and the refs didn't call it. No home cooking for OU!

Hayes had 20, Nunn had 19, the remainder of the squad scored a total of 4 points. OU might really struggle next year.

Mixed emotions. I despise OU but had decided in my mind that I wanted OU to make the finals, draw a decent crowd for the Championship, then lose. Now it'll be another poorly-attended Championship Game and probably the last Tournament in this wonderful format at the LCA. U-D and OU share blame for blowing a great opportunity. Anyone going tomorrow night?

Was conflicted, but same as you I wanted OU to make it to the finals, draw some fans, and lose there. I’m going tomorrow, a friend invited me to watch the Madness from the Quicken Loans suite. Finding a parking place shouldn’t be a problem.

Here’s a taste of what’s percolating among the loyal Oakland fan base, cut and pasted from their message board:

BYE BYE GREG!!!!

JUST SCORED 43 points against the WORST rated defense in entire nation.

43 points

worst defense in the nation.

Lipscomb scored 60 points in 10 minutes. You allowed your team to score 0 in the same stretch of time against D1's worst rated defense.

Ouch! At least that guy didn’t say that Kampe can “SMD”!

And another guy talked about Kampe being the “pole bearer” at his funeral! Which might be a euphemism for SMD!

Just for context sake, that’s a troll account that has never posted before tonight’s loss.

Cleveland State has chartered 5 buses for tonight's final. First come, first served. Cost? $0. Tickets included.

Wright State is giving free bus trip (including tickets) to 1st 40 students.

I'm a lurker on the OU board, and Drummer is right. There's one guy who is posting all sorts of crap over there, replying to himself 4 times in a row, etc. He's just fanning unnecessary flames all over the place.

True, there's disappointment over there, but I'd say its more of a resigned disappointment that the season didn't go there way, the injuries piled up, and yet another poor HL tourney performance. I do feel somewhat bad for those guys. They were teed up to have a special mid-major season. Remember, they actually scored some votes in a poll this season. They could've been on track to get a 11 or 12 seed, and make noise on the first day of the tourney. Alas it all crumbled and certainly the next year or two of Grizz teams won't carry anywhere close to those expectations.

Not necessarily. Alot can happen in an off-season to beef up the OU roster. If you listen hard enough, you might just be able to hear a major college administrator expelling some promising athlete from their school.
