Anyone figure how it is different from the Sagarin rating?

I found this but don’t have the time to analyze it.

RC - no need to spend any time trying to analyze the NET because the NCAA will not release the algorithm for determining its Team Value Index which is the most important metric used to rate teams.

We are rated this high because our Net Efficiency number is +0.036, winning percentage is .500, our adjusted winning percentage is about .700 because our road win at EMU counts more than 2 home wins, and our net scoring margin is only -6.

Road losses only count 0.6 of a loss and road wins count 1.4 wins. Games against less than D1 opponents count for nothing.

But it's anyone's guess about our TVI.

interesting.....
In Greek mythology, the Titans were greater even than the gods. They ruled their universe with absolute power! Well that basketball court out there tonight, that's our universe. Let's rule it like Titans! (with apologies to coach boon)

I don’t want to get too excited, but if the NCAA expands the tourney to 128 teams we are flirting with tournament territory. ;)

UIC gets a much higher ranking than us because its games so far have been played against tougher D-1 opponents as ranked in NET.

It has 3 road losses to Notre Dame (#19), Radford (#22), and Duquesne (#40) plus home wins over William & Mary (#119) and Bradley (#89). Its 3rd win is over D-II Wisconsin-Parkside.

Let's just win the HL tournament and get the automatic bid.

Detroit News article on the new rating system, featuring comments from a somewhat skeptical (U-M's) John Beilein:
