I certainly hope this is not the case; I had Maxwell penciled in as starting in the backcourt.

If BJ is not available; I'm guessing Dwayne Rose Jr. will get lots of playing time.

Game notes for the NC St. game have been released by Titan Athletics and list Maxwell as a probable starter.

That’s a good sign, right?

What’s going on with Maxwell? Is he injured? Has he been traveling with the team?
Maybe I’ve missed an update but it sure seems like we can use him.

Strained ligaments to one of his hands. Last I heard, they hoped he might be back for the Ohio game.

He traveled to both games in the Carolinas. Cast on his right wrist.

He has traveled with the team to every game. Hopefully, his injury has healed to the point that the doctors clear him to play soon. I heard he would be out a minimum of about 3 weeks from the NC State game. Maybe Saturday at Ohio. Maybe Dec 3 at Kent State. Or maybe, as a precaution, Davis holds him out to later in December at home.

Was he expected to be a starter and if so what position and in whose spot?

Point guard to allow AD to go to shooting guard?

There was a lot of speculation he would start or at the very least get significant minutes based on his size (6-4) and experience (he's a senior, played in 72 games, started 21 times, averaged 9.2 ppg and 4.7 rpg last season). I don't think he's a point guard.

No. Remember that in the modern game, a PG is a scoring weapon - not just a distributor of the ball. I understand that BJ started the scrimmages at guard alongside AD. In the first 3 games, he would have started in place of Legrande. At Vegas, he would have started in place of Calipari. He has 3 years experience in D-1 and the coaches believe he can help an otherwise inexperienced team on the floor in pressure situations. If you think about our roster, only BJ and Miller have more than 1 year experience playing D-1 ball. Hopefully, his injury heals so that he can rejoin the rotation in the near future in order to get some playing time ahead of the HL season.

Maxwell is having his cast off I believe today and then may still need a splint for the ligament issue involving one of his hands. I didn't get a sense that we would expect to see Maxwell in action anytime soon.

Hope he drive more as the season goes on. He opens up the floor when he does. Drive kick out make that defense think twice about clasping on you. Make it easier to make layups down the stretch.

Hopefully he can work through it and get healthy in time for the conference regular season. Then he can showcase that offensive efficiency for the remainder of the season.
