Promotions for 2019-20 season MBB games

They'll be much more to come, but thought I would start a thread about promotions scheduled for the 2019-20 season MBB games:

12/7 (vs. Eastern Michigan) — Benefit for Detroit Public Schools, $2 admission

12/14 (vs. Toledo) — Titan Basketball Alumni Day

12/19 (vs. Northeastern) — Community Night

12/21 (vs. SIU) — "Christmas in Calihan"

1/3/20 (vs. Northern Kentucky) — Community Night

1/5 (vs. Wright St. — Tommy Titan’s Birthday + P.A.L. Day

1/23 (vs. IUPUI) — Earl Cureton Day + Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day

1/25 (vs. UIC) — Titan Winter Blast (& Chili Cook-off) + Titan Hall of Fame inductions + Letter Winners recognition + Willie Green jersey retirement & bobblehead giveaway

1/31 (vs. Oakland) — Metro Rivalry Series Red Out + recognition of softball team (2019 Horizon champions)

2/13 (vs. Youngstown St.) — Athletic Director’s Honor Roll + Health Professions Night

2/15 (vs. Cleveland St.) — Boy Scout Day

2/21 (vs. Green Bay) — Community Night

2/23 (vs. Milwaukee) — Senior Day

Some details on the Titan Winter Blast, scheduled for January 25, 2020, in the Student Fitness Center, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

This year is going to be a cold one, but we've got the cure to those winter blues with our signature winter celebration, the Titan Winter Blast! This year we are turning up the heat with many new event features that are sure to warm you up inside and out. Come to campus and cozy up over some chili, food, beverages, and Titan comradery.

Festivities include:

- The wildly popular Chili Cook-off
- Casual buffet featuring coney's
- Open bar, featuring craft beer from Eastern Market Brewing Co.
- Indoor s’mores stations
- Hot cocoa and candy bar
- Fowling
- Live music from internationally known, alumni led, blues band Luther “Badman” Keith
- Kids winter and Titan inspired crafts
- Cornhole, Snowman Can Toss, and Giant Jenga Charades
- Personalized Detroit Mercy caricatures

After the tailgate make your way over to Calihan to cheer our Titan Men’s basketball team to victory over UIC.
Cook-off winner announced just after half-time.

Chili Chefs:

Featuring eight student and alumni chili chef duos. Stay tuned for the team line-up.

Admission Cost:

Regular Admission — $20 ($25 after 1/13)

Student Admission — $5 ($10 after 1/13)

Current Students of Competing Orgs — Free ($5 after 1/13) *call 313-993-1540 to register

Children 10 & under — Free

Deadline to pre-register is Jan. 13, all registration costs go up after this date.

Admission includes food, beer and wine bar, all activities, and a ticket to the men’s basketball game.

Detroit Mercy Titans vs. UIC, 1:00 p.m., Calihan Hall

Optional Mass to follow at Gesu Catholic Church, across the street, at 5:00 p.m. (17180 Oak Drive, Detroit, MI 48221)

Not sure exactly, but believe it involves outreach to groups in the surrounding neighborhood with free or discounted tickets.
