Understand that we are playing in the "under card" but traveling all the way to Vegas for games in a high school gym?

In past similarly bracketed exempt tournaments the Titans have played in, the “undercard” segment was located on the home court of one of the participating teams. Even if it were not at Calihan, a game on a college court in Lafayette or Irvine would be better than the Ed Clark HS gym with likely no crowd whatsoever in the bleachers. But I guess if you want the opportunity to play additional games that the exempt tournaments offer, you sometimes have to take what’s on the table.

Some trivia: Jimmy Kimmel is a graduate of Ed Clark HS, Class of 1985.

We did the same thing in 2005, LiC, playing two games at Greg Maddux' high school in Las Vegas, the first against Shawnee St., which was substituted in for someone else who withdrew, and the second game against UB (Buffalo), I believe, who was relatively new in the MAC at the time. We won the first game and lost the second. Depending upon one's perspective, we survived the experience of 2005 or perhaps we didn't, considering the erosion which has occurred in the Horizon League since that time.

So that's what Coach meant when he said this schedule would get us ready for conference play!

Some interesting comments by Davis about what this tournament was supposed to be. Unlike last season, he wasn't angry at our team's effort.

UC Irvine crushed Louisiana today 92-67.

All 3 teams finished 1-1.

Our game vs Irvine was the only game played where both teams were rested ahead of the game. In our case and Louisiana's case today, the team playing the next day lost to the team that had at least 1 day's rest.
