WISH LIST FOR 2020/2021

Postby 1975SHjoe » Sun Mar 22, 2020 11:53 am

Since the basketball world is on hold I thought I would post my wish list for next season 1) improve the defense we had 15 games where the opposition scored 80 or more points and our record was 4 - 15, defense wins championships
2) win at least 75% of our home games ( back in the day we had a 39 game home winning streak 3) finish in the top 4 in the HL 4) A Sagarin rating of 150 or lower. 5) Sign a big man 6) Beat Oakland

I sure posters can add to the list, so have at it!

It would be nice if we could get attendance back to a bare minimum of 2,000 a game next season. We dipped to under 1,500 this past year.

If we move No. 5 up to No. 1, Joe, that'll help greatly with the remaining priorities you cited. It's easier said than dome however, and, if we were to sign a big guy, he needs to be able to play.

We need two big guys. One JUCO or transfer to help immediately, one freshman to build on and groom. They need to play defense for sure and be at least an offensive threat.

I’d like to see the team sweep OU next season.

Wish #1: that the current pandemic is controlled to the level necessary to allow fans to gather for Titan basketball and other collegiate sports for 2020-21 cycle. I know the first spike of Coronavirus will likely subside in the next couple months, but absent a vaccine, there could be issues with returning spectator sports to normalcy in the Fall/Winter.

A Great Read. Under the headline "Schedule for next season impacted" Coach Brey of Notre Dame says they will not have seven "buy" in games next season (as this past season) .He is looking for Home & Home options. If more Power 6 schools go that route those schools whose budget are built on buy in income will be in trouble.

If Power 6 schools still don't want to schedule all Power 6 opponents and go the home-and-home route maybe we can get some decent home games over the next few seasons.

That would be my hope, for example maybe someone like Dayton or Xavier would give us a home game next fall--when they don't know if fans will even be attending, so they don't lose much--and take a home game back the next year. Or start in Dayton but with no guarantee payment, and we get the home game in 2021.

Unlikely, but perhaps possible?
