He's a coach's kid, 5-10 PG, scorer. Averaged 23 points per game. You can see some film here www.hudl.com/profile/10512218/Bryon-Ottrix-Jr

Ranked #64 in Ohio Class of '21 by Prep Hoops. Was third team All-Lakes Districts in Ohio (that's the northeastern part of the state, includes Cleveland) but did not make all-state teams (including honorable mention). His school is D-2 in Ohio (the largest schools are D-1, there are 4 divisions). No other publicly reported offers.

He's the kind of kid that usually you would see hope to gain recruiting ground and offers on the summer AAU circuit. I don't know, but one might speculate that the probable cancellation of that summer circuit may have sparked his decision to go ahead and commit early. But I don't want to downplay the possibility that he just decided he wanted to play for Coach Davis at Detroit.

He fits the mold of a lot of Davis recruits--small, quick point guard, scores, son of a coach so presumably a high basketball IQ.

We really need a point guard who can break down defenses and make a shot or find the open man. Our assist to made FG's this past season was very weak. Hope he fits the bill as AD will be a senior when he arrives. Great guard play and guard depth are keys to a teams success
