From the Detroit News:

“Saturday's state men: 'It's about time' for Detroit Mercy, which snaps skid against Oakland”

Today's victory was the first step toward finishing with a .500 overall record. 8-)

As I posted under a different topic (before the series with Oakland), we need to split on the road (Oakland, YSU. & CSU) and sweep at home (Purdue-FW & Robert Morris) .... this would give us a regular season record of 10-10 (conference record of 9-7).

How big were the two defensive plays Matt did down the stretch. The strip away steal off the fast break then the behind the back pass to Noah while falling out of bounce on the loose ball recovery. When Matt comes out an puts effort in his game he is a difference maker. I hope he will bring this energy every game.

If the Titans are going to go 1-3 for the year against their mighty and powerful rival Butl...er...Oakland, it's nice that the 1 was the last one...

Detroit Mercy and Oakland played four times, and each scored the same number of points. It's frustrating that we played equal in points but ended up 1-3.

I went to a three-game stretch a few years back where the Titans outscored their opponents in the three games by 49 points. But we went 1-2, losing by a point, by two points, and winning by 52. You'd think that outscoring opponents by 52 points in three games would have been better than just one win. Frustrating.

This is why Kampe didn't want to play us another two times. It really taught are guys how to win and what they have to do to beat teams in the HL. As long as this team plays with the intensity level up we should be above 0.500 by the end of the season.
