That’s strange, we should not have anyone else in the portal, unless they are counting incoming as well as outgoing, in which case we would have 2 and 2.

From my understanding, when a player enters the portal, they are electronically providing their signature in order to complete a “notification of transfer”. Once this is done, a school may terminate that player’s scholarship benefits at the end of the existing term (Not the school year) and is not obligated to take the student athlete back. Considering that most players enter the portal after the season is over and during early sumner, one may speculate that if the decision is driven by an important player, then it would be in the school’s best interest to keep the player’s benefits active until the new term begins, which would leave the door open for a quick return.

Most lists count BJ Maxwell and Jordan Gorman who entered the 2020-21 portal last fall. I would not be surprised if 2-3 more players on our roster do enter the portal. The crowd makes it hard getting through the door some days.
