DETROIT (1/15/2019) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball program and head coach Bernard Scott has announced the addition of Iona transfer Rebekah Justice (Cincinnati, Ohio / Mariemont HS). She played her first collegiate season with the Gaels in 2017-18 and is currently enrolled in classes at Detroit Mercy. She'll be eligible to play for the Titans next season.

"Rebekah will give us some size that we haven't had since I have been here," coach Scott said. "She's a post player that can score inside and out. She played a lot of minutes in her first season at Iona so that experience will help her and our program. Rebekah is a great addition to our program and we're excited to have her joining our Titan Family!"

Justice, a 6-foot-5 forward, started 21 of 27 games during her freshman season at Iona, leading the team in blocks (28) and averaging 3.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game in 2017-18. She had season-highs of 15 points, seven rebounds and four blocks in a game and led the team in blocks in 15 different contests.

Prior to beginning her college career at Iona, Justice was a high school standout at Mariemont High School in Cincinnati, earning All-Conference, All-City and All-State honors as a senior. She earned the Cincinnati D2 Player of the Year honor as well as East Side All-Star accolades. She scored more than 1,000 points during her high school career, was a four-time All-Conference player and was a two-time Defensive Player of the Year as a freshman and sophomore for Mariemont.
