For the 17th consecutive year, University of Detroit Mercy is listed in the top tier of Midwest Best Regional Universities in the 2018 edition of the U.S. News & World Report's well-respected "Best Colleges."

Detroit Mercy ranked No. 19 for Midwest Best Regional Universities and is the only university in Michigan to be listed in the top 25.

U.S. News & World Report released the rankings on Tuesday, Sept. 12.

Detroit Mercy’s No. 19 rank is higher than the No. 24 rank the University received in 2017. In addition, the University earned a No. 12 rank for Best Colleges for Veterans in the Midwest Region and was ranked No. 32 nationally for Best Value Schools and No. 13 for Best Undergraduate Business Management Programs. This is the fourth consecutive year that Detroit Mercy’s undergraduate Management program was ranked in the nation’s top 20 by U.S. News & World Report.

Making some progress. Should be noted that these regional rankings do not include schools that categorize as "national universities." UM, MSU, and even Oakland fall in that category.

The big news in the national ranking that came out today is that Georgetown creeped into the top 20.

You are absolutely correct, except that Oakland received a Not Rated as a National University and Wayne State was 233 or something to that affect on a national ranking. But the Midwest rankings include schools like Butler, Xavier, Valpo and some closer to home schools like Lawrence Tech, Kettering, UM-Flint, UM-Dearborn.
