Chemical Bank/Cobo Center

Chemical Bank paid $33,000,000 for the naming rights for Cobo Center. Whenever UDM decides to build a new arena I hope the school can get a similar windfall.

I doubt we will build a new arena in the next 100 years. Calihan has good bones and the high pitch of the seats makes for a great game experience.

I think a renovation that focused on the lower bowl would make a huge difference. Having the ability to push the bleachers in is great for having athletic teams practice, host commencement, etc. But it looks awful on television. If we had the money we could build new practice facilities and space for athletics and gut the lower bowl of Calihan and put in real seats and scorers tables. Maybe a local corporatation could be a part of that and get naming rights.

New arena, though? I highly doubt it.

Calihan could use a better AV system and WIFI!

A few comfortable seats would be nice as well - and cupholders!

Mr. Vitale you have a lot of money, since UDM named its court after you, we would appreciate it if you left the university a few dollars in your last will and testament. Thanks in advance.
