Detroit Mercy’s Dr. Garibaldi to appear on Sunday news show

This Sunday (3/24/19) at 10 a.m., Dr. Garibaldi will be interviewed on “Spotlight on the News” with Chuck Stokes on WXYZ-TV, Channel 7. During this appearance, Dr. Garibaldi will discuss the recent graduate tuition realignment and undergraduate tuition reset, the success of the University campaign, the Live6 HomeBase opening in late Spring, progress on enrollment and Antoine Davis’ freshman NCAA 3-point record.

The interview is on YouTube, Dr. G. stated that the endowment was 25 million when he was hired in 2011 and that it has grown to 60 million. He also stated that the school received over 6,000 undergrad apications for the 2019-2020 school year.

The 6,000 applications number has to be taken with a grain of salt. With the introduction of the “common application” system, kids now can apply for an unlimited number of colleges by filling out just one form. The number that really matters is actual enrollment, which has been running around 500 or so each year.
