Just perusing the FY 2012 BGSU audited financial statement. Looks like football revenues were $1,978,502, while expenses were $5,132,624 for a loss of $3,154,122. Men's basketball lost $880,916, while hockey lost $1,059,182 and all other sports combined lost $5,367,477. That's, of course, before you throw in $11,819,248 in student activity fees and $425,104 in direct institutional support. Even after all that, intercollegiate athletics overspent by $457,936....http://www.auditor.state.oh.us/auditsea ... 2-Wood.pdf

pitiful. Average well under 20,000 -- closer maybe to 17000. Lowest attendance ever reported for a bowl game.

well that's kinda what i don't get. assuming 17 grand @ 20 per ticket? for 6 home games would be over 2 mil in revenue. thats says nothing for away gates concessions etc. 17000 hot dogs @4.00 per would be another 68000 per game? don't think you mistated the number...i'm just a numbers kinda guy. seems like gross revenues should be more? i'm sure there must be giveaways and such but still. just wondering out loud really. i see. only five home games not six. my estimated avg ticket price is probably high too.
