Sorry for the non-ball post but figure more will see it here. Big game v. Ohio State tomorrow. I heard they are expecting about 1000 people at the game. Ohio State is in the top 20 nationally and have a couple of All-Americans.
The men's lacrosse season is nearly here and fans can listen to a preview of the upcoming year and the Ohio State game with head coach Chris Kolon '09 (MBA) as will be a guest of Matt Shepard tomorrow morning (Feb. 6) at 9:35 a.m. (EST), on Shep In The Morning on WDFN-AM 1130.

Fans can listen to the station in the local Detroit area or online and through their phones with the IHeart Radio app.

The Titans will open their seventh season of varsity lacrosse on Saturday as they take on the Ohio State Buckeyes at 1:00 p.m., at Ultimate Soccer Arenas. Tickets are still available for purchase at 313-993-1700 or at detroittitans.com/tix.

I encourage all that have not witnessed a Titan Mens Lacrosse Game to attend on Saturday at the Ultimate Sports Arena at 1pm. The place will be standing room only of 2000 screaming Titan Fans.

Go Titans.

I have not been on campus since I graduated 6 years ago so forgive my ignorance. You're telling me we are drawing more people to LAX games than for men's basketball?!?!

Last year at the games played at the Ultimate Sports Arena in Pontiac, they averaged 900, with the largest crowd 1900+.
This is a weekend game against Big Ten Ohio State and there will be many HS Lacrosse Groups in attendance.

A regular attendee at the Titan Games in Pontiac is Tiger Radio Announcer Dan Dickerson. He is involved with Clarkston HS Lacrosse.

Games on campus average about 400.

Interesting! Gosh, I hope we get a good crowd for the Cleveland State game the 13th. It's on ESPNU and I can just imagine no student section and 800 people casually sitting around with room to stretch. Maybe they should hand out free tix at the LAX game!

Ohio St. shot with 13 seconds left in game hits goal post -- Titans upset Buckeyes 9-8!

The LAX team should be in a rowdy and celebratory mood in Calihan for tomorrow's game.

Lol, will they:

1) even show up?
2) Even stay for the whole game?

Last time they were honored, they all left right after half time.

That being said, if the AD renews McCallum & company, I may switch my support over to LAX

Ohio St. is #22 in NCAA, second best team in the Midwest behind #2 Notre Dame:

Amazing game! Exciting. Packed house! A much younger crowd than b-ball. A lot of fun. These guys play as a team. I saw Ackerman. There could have been others. Great win!

Helluva game. Pretty much back and forth and full of suspense the whole game and when Ohio State hit the goal post in the last minute everybody lost a heart beat! Great crowd. We had our post game dinner at CK Diggs in Rochester Hills and happy to see many of the Titan fans talking about the game. Also, a couple of Titan cheerleaders are servers and it made the dinner that more enjoyable.

Photos from todays event. Hope that those that have not been to a Lacrosse game, consider doing so in the future.

I don't want to talk about or read about basketball right now. At least we have lacrosse. ;)

We made a good case that we should be #2. If . . . er . . . when we beat UofM on the 14th in Ann Arbor there should be no question. It will be interesting to see the impact of the Big10 adding lacrosse and bringing in lacrosse powerhouses Johns Hopkins (#6) and Maryland (#10) will have on our program. Penn State is currently #17. Its also interesting that the traditionally east coast (and upstate New York) sport (and the oldest sport in the country) has Denver as the #1 team and Notre Dame as #2, followed by 18 "east coast" teams in the top 20.

There were a lot of kids ages about 10-16 at the game. A lot of people wearing Detroit gear, and a lot who probably never thought twice about our school, but will now. The university did a great job promoting the game, as did the lacrosse community. That was a fun game on Saturday. Great atmosphere. Good to see tailgaters, including students, in the parking lot.

Lets keep it up. GO TITANS!
