Harlem Globetrotters coming to Calihan Hall (February 1)

Postby Rogobob77 » Tue Jan 07, 2020 6:43 pm

Haven’t seen much advertising yet about this event, but the legendary Harlem Globetrotters will be making an appearance in our very own historic Calihan Hall on February 1. It is my understanding that former Titan “Dunking Doug” Anderson is with the team. Ticket prices range from $20 to a whopping $125 for court side seats. Last year’s Detroit stop was at Little Caesars Arena.

i like that we are starting to use the hall as an event destination. i would welcome more of that.
In Greek mythology, the Titans were greater even than the gods. They ruled their universe with absolute power! Well that basketball court out there tonight, that's our universe. Let's rule it like Titans! (with apologies to coach boon)

As has long been the case, Calihan Hall will be the site of the Detroit Catholic High School League championship finals, this year scheduled on Saturday, February 29.

talking more events from professionals. i'm sure we will continue to support highschool basketball. the facility is empty most of the time. there are a variety of events that we could host to generate, not only an income stream, but also interest in the university from a wider based audience. a reason to come down and take a look around.

Always entertaining, always fun.

This is great for the current students as well to have an entertainment option right on campus.

Seeing this could inspire our current players.

I had a scheduled conflict so didn’t attend, would be interested in reading a report from anyone who did see the Globetrotters last night.
